Since my last post I've been doing a lot of planning. Desperately trying to organise myself with blogging as well as other aspects of my life.

I started with blogging and made a list of things I wanted to buy that might help me, including a diary, some decent photo software, subscription boxes etc. I then compiled a list of topics I wanted to blog on and when I wanted to blog about them.

I have also been trying to organise various aspects of my life, including tidying my house, fitness and healthy eating. We've bought some storage boxes for the house to help not only keep things tidy and organised but to keep things out of reach from our little boy, especially now he's started to move around a bit more. 

I'll be making a few purchases over the coming days/weeks and will post about any decent hauls and bargains I get!

How do you manage to get yourself organised? Have you got any tips for me?

Football and Me

I'm a Shrewsbury Town FC supporter. So. Shrewsbury Town vs Manchester United. It should have been an amazing game. It actually turned out to be a little bit of a let down. Not because Shrewsbury played bad but because the outcome could have been so different if one point in the match had been different. That's right. It was THAT free kick. Offside or not offside? My opinion? Offside. Even if I didn't support Shrewsbury, it was still offside. 

I could argue this all day long but the game is over. We lost. But the club should still be proud. They worked hard and kept it to 3 goals when it could have been so many more. Now we need to concentrate on the league. Staying up in League One is our number 1 priority.

Blogging Future

I've been doing a lot of thinking over the last few days about blogging and my previous post. My last post was a few facts about me, one of which was about being organised. I love organisation but I am terrible at it. To prove my point just read through my posts on this blog. My posts are all random and unplanned. I'd quite like this to change. I've bought myself some stationery and plan to use these to plan posts (I'd be open to ideas, comment letting me know if there is anything you'd like to see me post on) and organise myself into writing more frequently. 

The next post after this one will follow shortly and then I am going to try and blog every day or at least every other day. I know this post seemed to be a bit of a ramble but I thought I'd let you know what was on my mind.

15 Facts About Me

I have seen bloggers do this before and I never fully understood why until I started blogging on a regular basis. I'm doing it because it might be nice for any readers I do have to get to know me a little! So here goes -

1. I'm only little, measuring in at 4' 11"
2. My favourite colour is blue
3. My favourite type of food is Chinese food
4. I love to game. My favourite games to play are Minecraft, Terraria, all of the Lego games       and Plants vs Zombies
5. I have an almost 1 year old son
6. I love Disney. And that is an understatement!
7. I have a black cat
8. I also love to read but haven't picked up a book since having my son
9. I have a younger sister. She is taller than me
10. I have severe self confidence issues. I am constantly worried about what people think of       me, and almost need constant reassurance
11. I love my cups of tea - make me a cuppa (splash of milk, 2 sugars!) and I'm yours
12. I like being really organised. I'm just not very good at it
13. I really really want a pen pal! 
14. The first band I saw live was T'Pau at an 80's concert. I also saw Go West, Belinda               Carlisle (I love her), Bananarama and Human League

There are a few (very) random facts about me! I had no idea what facts I was going to post until I started typing which is why they are in no real order or about a specific part of my life. I might do a longer facts post a bit later in the year but that might take a bit of planning!

Date Afternoon

Yesterday me and my significant other had a date afternoon while our little boy was in nursery. We started at Nandos for lunch (which was so yummy!) and then headed across to Cineworld to watch Deadpool.

For those who don't know, Deadpool is a Marvel character who is neither a hero or a villain. This film has been highly anticipated in our household. We love Marvel and Deadpool is a character that we both really like. In the film he is played by Ryan Reynolds *swoon*

I thoroughly enjoyed the film. The was a LOT of swearing, a bit of nudity and a bit of gore (if you can even call it gore). It was really funny and action packed from start to finish. 

I have already decided I will be purchasing the film when it comes out on blu-ray.

I ordered the Calm book a few days ago off Amazon and it has finally arrived! I love the look of this book. It is very vibrant and yet so simple. 

There is an app to go alongside the book which I have had for some time but never used. 

Recently I have been feeling rather stressed and anxious and my PPD seems to have hit me hard. I hate the way I feel when PPD hits and have been thinking of ways I can try and help myself when I am feeling down or anxious, and also how to prevent me feeling like this so frequently. Calm seems like a good place to start.

I'll read the book and use the app and update my progress right here!

Birchbox February 2016

I had the chance to purchase my first Birchbox with 50% off meaning I only paid £6.47. I got the code from Hannah at Pull Yourself Together. I took delivery of my box and couldn't wait to get it open!

Once open, I was very impressed with the presentation of the box. All of my items arrived in a neat little bag with a information leaflet telling me a bit about each product.

First think I looked at was the 'Beauty Bonus' item, an L.Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder (RRP £11.50 for 15). Although I am blonde I really like the look of this and am really looking froward to giving it a go. My hair gets matted and tangled around hairbands so easily so I'm very interested to see how this holds up!

Next up was Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect (RRP £20). As I mentioned above, my hair gets tangled and matted super easy. Even and especially after washing. I'll be using this later when I wash my hair. I'm not sure whether it's going to be worth the £20 price tag or not but I can't wait to find out!

I currently have cold, so I don't know how good this smells but on first use I was impressed with the Cochine Water Hyacinth & Lime Blossom Hand & Body Lotion (RRP £19). My hands were super soft after use and it soaked in really quickly too!

Also in my box I had Doux me Comforting Face Mask & Exfoliator (RRP £18). I very rarely use face masks but I will certainly give this a go as both an exfoliator and a face mask and see whether it does a good job as each!

Birchbox have recently launched their own line of make up. On ordering my box I was asked to choose between 2 colours for the LOC One and Done Shadow Stick. I was given the choice of either Champagne Problems (the one I chose) or Perfect Cents. I chose this one as it's slightly more silvery than the other. I used this as part of my usual make up routine this morning and I'm impressed. It glides on super smoothly and can be used as a blended eye shadow or as a bold liner. I opted to use it as a liner and it worked really well!

Last but most certainly not least, the one beauty bloggers have been most excited about, is the Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush (RRP £7.99). Everyone who orders a February Birchbox receives a full sized Spectrum brush. It has super soft bristles and looks stunning. I'm really loving the vibrant colours and how soft it is against my skin! I will most certainly be ordering another brush in the future when any of my current brushes need replacing!

Update: I've been poorly!

I have most definitely been slacking when it comes to writing my blog. In my defence my entire household has been poorly this week. My son has had a chest infection which has really affected him and he has not been himself. He is finally better now though, at least a lot better than he was a few days ago.

I will be following this post up with a couple more. One will be a review of this months Birchbox which I am very excited about (my first review post! Yippee!) And the second will be what I'm thinking of calling Flashback Friday in which I'll post a picture from my past and tell you all about it! It'll be nice for me to look back at old photos etc and also for you guys to find out a little bit about me!

Mummy Monday #3

Back round to Mummy Monday already - and I have only just realised I didn't post anything for the rest of last week (*taps wrist* bad Nikki)

I currently have a poorly little boy. Again. He seems to have had a constant cough now since September last year. It fades and then comes back worse than before. I really wish I could just take it off him and suffer instead so that he can be happy and healthy again! Unfortunately it doesn't work like that, although I really wish it did. On another note, we have his first parents evening at nursery on Wednesday evening! I'm really looking forward to this so I hear all about what he gets up to, what his favourite toys and things to do are!

Slightly coming away from the mummy topic, I am starting Fit Girls Guide with my sister today. If you're not sure what that is, take a look at my previous post about it here. Day 1 has been pretty tough as I have eaten things I have never eaten before (things I don't like I might add), used muscles I have never used before (ouch!) and I am doing all this while feeling exhausted from looking after my poorly boy (I miss Red Bull).

Mummy Monday #2

I'm thinking Mummy Monday may definitely become a permanent fixture on here. It helps get off my chest how I'm feeling about motherhood etc.

So today has been tough. I have had difficulty in getting my little boy off to sleep for his nap. He eventually went but it took over an hour to get him off. Last night he woke up screaming. I don't know why. Maybe he had a bad dream, maybe he's teething - I don't know. It's a horrible feeling not knowing why your child is upset as you don't know how you can help them or even if you can help them. 

Hopefully, whatever it is, it won't last long and he can get back to being his normal happy self and maybe even start sleeping better!
