Pyjama Day

We've had a pyjama day today as my baby boy is poorly. He seems to be poorly so often lately and I don't like it. We've been told to expect him to seem constantly poorly for the next couple of years but hopefully he'll be a little more resilient after that.

During his naps I've tried to watch some films. I managed to get through 2 films today - Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Saving Mr. Banks. I love both these films. I love Captain America because I love the Avengers and superhero movies. And I love Saving Mr Banks because I love all things Disney and Walt Disney is my idol.

What are your favourite movies?

I Think Too Much

Lately I have been thinking lots about what I have and where I am compared to what I would like to have and where I would like to be. I hate it when I start thinking about this sort of stuff because it usually gets me down, and this time is no exception.

I actually don't want much more (although I am fully aware I should be happy with everything I already have - there are people who are happy with much much less). I made a mental list of all the things I'd like or would like to change. Top of the list is to get married. A conversation had many many times but alas it currently is not meant to be.

Second on the list is to lose weight. Now, I know this one is totally on me and I could make some lifestyle changes and I would most likely get my wish. But I lack willpower and I like takeaways far too much! But I'm looking into things like Weight Watchers and Slimming World as well as starting running again. I'll keep you updated as to how I'm getting on (I might start a Weight Control Wednesday).

Third on my list is to own a larger house. Actually at this moment in time I would just settle for an emptier house. We have far too many possessions that don't get looked at let alone used so it would be nice to have a HUGE sort out that resulted in us almost being able to start from scratch - it's just finding time and effort.

There were a few things that followed on this list but they were things that most people could only dream about so I almost immediately put these thoughts to the back of my mind and try to forget about them.

On a completely different note I have had a rather lovely Easter weekend. We've not really done much but it has been nice.

What have you been up to? Have you had a lovely Easter?

I've slipped a lot since my last blog post. One of my goals for March was to blog at least every other day and I haven't managed that at all. It's been over a week since my last post and honestly I just haven't really done much.

My most exciting day was Saturday just gone. We went to Birmingham for the day and took our little boy to the Sea Life Centre. He loved it so much. Afterwards we had lunch at Wagamamas which was amazing - I highly recommend having the Passion fruit cheesecake if you ever have a pudding there. Then we went on to do a bit of shopping in the Bullring before jumping on the train to the NEC where we met up with my father-in-law who was our ride home. When we got to the NEC we found that it was Comic-Con! There were so many people dressed up it was fantastic to see them all wondering around!

I bought myself a diary while in Birmingham and I am going to use this to plan my blog posts and carry round with me to jot down things as they come to me.

Have you guys done anything exciting over the last week?

Life Update

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around to post much over the last week or so. I've had a chest infection and have been feeling terrible. I had a whole list of things I wanted to blog about too! Anyway, this is just a quick update post and then I'll be back to posting as normal!

So, I've been ill (most of last week and the weekend). I've had some antibiotics and am finally starting to feel like myself again. I have been feeling a bit down though, I'm really not happy with myself at the moment. I hate the way I think, the way I look and I think it's time to do something about it. Me and my sister are doing The Color Run in August and I would very much like to be able to run the whole thing. I can't do that in the state I'm in now. Time to kick it up a notch.

As for being a mummy, my little boy started crawling over the weekend! It's amazing because he's been getting so frustrated at not being able to move around so hopefully this eases a lot of the frustration! I've also been reading his observations from nursery and he is loving it there! His favourite thing is going outside and they are going to encourage going outside and exploring what he likes most about being outside. I'm thinking this would be a good opportunity to take him out more and get myself out and about walking places and getting fitter.

Have you been up to anything interesting?

Mother's Day, The Weekend & Purchases!

Sunday was my first Mother's Day and it was really good. I woke up to my little boy having slept through the whole night! Needless to say the following night was a nightmare but I'm trying to look at the positive side! I got a beautiful card which I will treasure and keep forever. Although I didn't have any presents to open, I have been promised a shopping trip, Wagamamas and a trip to the aquarium! I'm really looking forward to this. And besides, I had an amazing lunch with my lovely family. What more could a girl ask for?

Other than our lunch on Mother's Day (including some cake which was all made by my sister) my weekend was pretty dull to be fair. Didn't get much done at all!

And finally, I wanted to tell you about my purchases. I bought my baby some more bedding (Mickey Mouse & The Twirlywoos) and also some walkie talkies for my friends kids for their birthdays. March's Birchbox was also delivered and I'm testing out the products at the moment and then I'll do a post. I'm most excited though about my new kicks. Disney Vans! I bought some Minnie Mouse ones and I'm totally in love with them. I'll do a post on those with pics in due course.

Did all you mummies have a nice Mother's Day? If you're not a mummy, did you do anything special for your mum?

Spring Clean

I am planning to start my Spring cleaning tomorrow. The house is a mess and needs a good thorough sort out so I plan on starting tomorrow. The biggest thing is the toys. Tons and tons of toys! Everywhere. I can't escape the toys! I need to sort them into 2 boxes - one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Then I need to sort the crockery in the kitchen. We might be getting a dishwasher (yay!) so I need to sort out our stuff so we can make space for it.

There is so much to do, so little time to do it in and so little energy to do it with. But it does need doing so no time like the present(ish).

My next post will be Mother's Day so I will try and remember to update you on how the big clean went!

March Goals

Today I had an appointment to donate blood. I went, and mid donation was told that they would have to stop as my blood was not flowing quick enough. For anyone who knows me will understand how big a deal this was. I have a fear of needles and got myself all worked up for nothing. In the time that I was there, I read some blogs that I like and once I was told my donation had to be cut short, I made the decision to take inspiration from one of my favourite bloggers (Famous in Japan) and do a monthly goals post, so here goes.

  1. Be healthier and take better care of myself. This is kind of self explanatory. Being told your blood is flowing too slowly for donation makes you instantly take to Google and look at why. Majority of places I looked suggested it might be down to being unhealthy and unfit. So, time to make a change. I making this goal to be physically healthier and mentally healthier too.
  2. Blog more. I find myself really neglecting my blog. I'm going to try to blog a lot through March. My biggest problem is finding topics to blog about!
  3. Take more photographs. I recently dug out my camera and have been taking lots of photos of my little boy. I realised while doing this that I really really enjoy taking photos. So I plan to continue and take loads!
  4. Organise myself better. I always tell myself I'm going to do this one and I never do. My house is a tip and I am always forgetting things. I need to try and find a way to be more organised. It should help with my wanting to blog more too.
  5. Last but not least, don't neglect my family. Since having my little boy my whole world has gone into looking after him and making sure he has my undivided attention. This has meant I've neglected other members of my family. My partner being one of them. I don't mean to and I plan on rectifying this.
Do you have any goals for the month? What are they?

Happy March!

Happy March everyone! I can't believe where the year is going!

With 2016 being a leap year and yesterday being 29th February, there is a tradition that on this day women can propose to men. It is thought that St Brigid made a deal with St Patrick because she felt that women had to wait too long for a man to propose. St Patrick decreed that women could propose on one day in February during a leap year. Any man that declined was thought to have paid a fine, ranging from a kiss to a pair of gloves.

So did any of you ladies propose to your man?
