Planning Some Changes

As the title of this post suggests, I am planning some changes for this blog. A new look and a new name to be precise.

The changes won't be happening immediately or even in the next few weeks. I've got some sorting to do before I can make the changes live but I'm really excited.

I explained in a previous post that this blog was originally set up by me and my sister. I was Curves and she was Contour. That's how it was going to work. She is very into her make up, fashion and beauty and I wanted something to help with my weight loss and health and fitness. No sooner had the blog began, my sister decided it wasn't something she had the time to do. While I totally understand, I now feel that Curves & Contour isn't really.... well, me.

I'm now making the changes I feel are necessary to make this blog reflect me rather than me and my sister.

I'm really excited to see what you guys think to the new name and design!

It Arrived!!

It feels like I've been waiting forever but my race pack for The Color Run UK in Birmingham next month has finally arrived!

As per usual, Munchkin went mental when the postman walked across the stones outside our house and I'll be honest, I started to get excited too. I've been waiting for my pack to arrive since it was booked in February! So you can imagine how excited I got when I saw the turquoise packet on the floor underneath the letterbox!

I always love the goodies they put in the race packs - it makes it worth every penny! They always include a t-shirt, and this years design is a thing of pure beauty! It has a beautiful Color Run logo on the front and the Skittles logo on the back.

As they have the previous couple of years, there were some temporary tattoos included. This year they also included some glitter face paint! I'm going to have so much fun with that!!

Next up is the Color Runner headband. This years is blue and I love love love it!!!

A standard thing in any race pack is the race number, it's not very exciting but it's a vital part of the pack as you include your emergency contact details on the back just in case anything were to happen.

Last but not least, also included this year is a wristband! It seems to be really good quality too! It's a fabric band that reads "I am healthy. I am happy. I am me"

I'm so excited for this years Color Run. I'll be taking part with my sister and I'll be sure to photograph as much as I can - I might even vlog it! Let me know what you think!

A Bit of Down Time

I'd like to start of this post by sincerely apologising for the lack of posts recently. I've been suffering a tad over the last week or so with my mental health. I've had a few curveballs thrown my way and I just haven't been able to deal with them as well as I should have been. I have been back to my GP and have had a referral appointment for the local psychotherapy services, I have a telephone consultation next week, I will be sure to let you know how that goes.

It was my birthday on Saturday, instead of celebrating I spent my day feeling rather sorry for myself. My partner was ill so we didn't get chance to celebrate as we had originally planned - I know he couldn't help being poorly but I let if affect me way more than it should have done. He has promised a meal out this weekend so I'm looking forward to that now. I've been given quite a lot of money to spend on a trip I have planned with my sister to Harry Potter Studios and London, so I do have more celebratory days ahead of me.

The school holidays have begun which means I'm on shift hours for the next 6 weeks or so. This week I'm only working 2 afternoons, one of which I did today. I have got lots to do for my NVQ which I need to remember to do, I have my bullett journal to help with this and I also got the prettiest diary from a friend for my birthday which I fully intend on using for organising the work I need to do for my qualification.

I hope you've all been well, I'll be posting again tomorrow. I'm hoping to be posting an unwrapping post of a parcel I'm waiting for from The Color Run UK with my race stuff in. It's due to arrive anytime now and my sister already has received hers!

Speak soon lovelies!

Week Review #1

This is the first of (hopefully) many weekly reviews.

I thought it might be good to try and make sure I write at least once a week guaranteed, as I know I'm not exactly the best at posting on a regular basis!

So, here goes!

Monday was my first day back at work after our holiday. It was tough but as far as first days back go, a good one! Not sure if I was missed or not but hopefully I was. Tuesday and Wednesday were also good, fairly basic days, nothing exciting.

Thursday. Now Thursday was a good day. It was the day everyone from my generation (as well as many others) have been waiting for. Pokémon Go was released in the UK! I've been playing since it's release and am totally hooked! I'm considering a series of posts on Pokémon Go (maybe even a vlog - eeek!), it would all depend on how things go.

Friday I came down very poorly very suddenly. Migraine and not being able to keep food down. Luckily my mum was on hand to help out with my baby boy.

This weekend has flown by and I am feeling so much better. I think it was just a 24hr bug. Mentally though I'm not at my best. I'm feeling very down and panicky. I have an appointment at the Doctors on Thursday so hopefully I'll be able to finally get something sorted. I know I don't want any anti-depressants as I have taken these before and felt worse on them than I did before taking them.

So that was my week. I'm sure I'll get better at writing these as the weeks go by!

Have you had a good week?

Gotta Catch 'Em All!

I have been waiting for this day since I was a little girl. I am getting serious flashbacks from 1996. Not only was that the year my baby sister was born, it was also the year I gained a very serious addiction to Pokémon. From my very first game through to my first pack of trading cards - I was hooked. Eventually all the hype dyed down, people stopped liking it so much and it sort of, fizzled. Fast forward to July 2016. Pokémon Go is released in Australia, Japan and USA. I'm starting to get really impatient.

Then. Miracle of miracles. I get the notification through that Pokémon Go is available in the UK (not before Germany mind you *hmph*)

I downloaded it straight away and got stuck in.

You start by entering your DOB and logging in to either your Gmail account or your Pokémon Trainer Account (if you have one). Then you create a male or female character. From there you enter the game world with a choice of 3 starter Pokémon - Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. I have seen that if you walk away (literally) from those 3 Pokémon approximately 5 times then a Pikachu will appear. I had heard this from players in the US, Australia and Japan so I'm not sure whether it works here in the UK, but I don't see why it shouldn't.

Anyways, I have managed to catch a few Pokémon beyond my starter Pokémon (I chose Charmander by the way).

There are Gyms to capture as part of a team (red, yellow and blue) and Pokestops along the way. Pokestops are where you get Pokeballs and various other bits that they give you.

I have to say, I am thoroughly enjoying it and it definitely gives me an excuse to get out of the house and do some walking rather than taking the car!

Have you given into the hype of Pokémon Go?

Disney Store Haul!

If there's one post I enjoy writing, it's a Disney based post. And it's even better when it's a Disney Store haul post!

I love everything Disney, which is why I couldn't resist these latest purchases. I apologise for the really poor quality in these photos but I haven't unpacked my camera yet and I'm 100% sure which bag it's in! (Naughty Nikki!)

First up is this really cute Donald Duck tote bag (it has FEET!!!). I kinda couldn't resist this one!

Seriously though, how cute do those feet make this bag??

Next up was something I bought for Bullet Journaling. I love washi tape and have been on the look out for some cute tape to use in my journal - I found some!

Minnie Mouse washi tape!! Love love love these!

I then went on to get myself a new water bottle (don't tell my other half - he thinks I already have far too many water bottles! He probably has a point...)

I also couldn't resist this beautiful Alice Through The Looking Glass phone case. I thought it was just gorgeous and had to have it. It came with a dust protector for the earphone plug which is super cute but I'm terrified it's going to snap off and block the hole.

And last but not least is this absolutely stunning 'pocket watch' mirror. It's a lot heavier than it looks and is really good quality. And for £9.95 I'm extremely impressed!

What do you think? (Other than that I really didn't need half this stuff!)

Home Time

After 10 days away in (not so) sunny Dorset, it's time to go home. We'll be heading home early tomorrow morning.

We've done so much this holiday and I have some lovely pictures to show you all! I'll post these from the comfort my own home (and with the speed of our own WiFi!)

I'm not sure whether we will be calling anywhere on the way back but if we do it will most likely be at Street or Cribbs Causeway.

I've had a lovely time here but I can't wait to get back home and back to some normality!
