Five Favourite Friday | 50 Things to do Before You're 11 ¾

Tim chose our topic for this week and he's opted for the National Trust's 50 Things to do Before You're 11 ¾! You can download their app for free or pick up a booklet from any National Trust property (I got Alex's from Powys Castle).

So here goes:

5. #7 Fly a Kite. 'Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height. Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring.' I feel like this is something that everyone should do at least once in their lives, and I can't wait to get Alex a kite and take him to a large field and get him flying it!

4. #15 Play in the Snow. Highly unlikely but a definite must! It just doesn't snow much anymore does it?

3. #27 Go Stargazing. I love going out and just looking at the stars and I can't wait to do this with Alex.

2. #37 Check out the crazy creatures in a rock pool. I don't think I ever did rock pooling as a kid so it would be so cool to do this with Alex for the first time!

1. #48 Find a Geocache. I've yet to find one so I think it would be really cool for us to go hunting for them as a family!

And there you have it. You check out the full list here or download the app on iOS or Android.

Next week we'll be looking at our top 5 crisp flavours! I had a craving for crisps as I'm writing this which may or may not have influenced my decision for the topic...

Five Favourite Friday | Board Games

Friday!!! Everyone's favourite day! For me and Tim Friday doesn't just mean it's the weekend, it means it's time for another top 5! This week we're looking at Board Games. I love board games. I always wanted to be that family that sits around the dining table after dinner and plays a board game or two instead of sitting in front of the TV or on our phones. Now I have my own little family, as Alex grows maybe my dream will become reality!

Until then, here are my favourite board games to play. There are no rules to the list, if they're sold amongst the board games in the shop, and is played on a board or using a board then it counts!

5. Chess. Let's takes things back to basics. Chess is one of my favourites. My dad taught me to play and we'd play together loads. One Christmas I was even treated to a glass chess board and pieces! It was beautiful.

4. The Game of Life. I was introduced to this game by my partner and his family. I'd not heard of it until we played it but once I had played it once I was hooked. The whole premise of the game is that you have a car with 'you' inside and as you progress around the board you gain a 'husband' or 'wife' and get a job and, if you're lucky (or not depending on your views!), children too! To win, you reach the end of the board and be the one with the most money when you 'retire'!

3. Battleships. 2 Players. 10 ships. Who can sink whose ships first? That's basically it. So simple yet so much fun!

2. Trivial Pursuit. I love this game so much. I could spend hours and hours playing this game! I'm not great at it but I love it! I do really the different variations like the Harry Potter version and Disney version which I happen to be rather good at!

1. Cluedo. My absolute favourite game. I could play this all day and all night long. I'm good at this game but it's really varied so I could have one great game and then the next be terrible! I just love it.

An honourable mention this week goes out to Monopoly. Relationship killer. The cause of many a household argument. You either end up stinking rich or completely broke! But we all keep going back to it! It's addictive!

And there you go - my favourite board games. What are yours? Let me know in the comments!

As always, pop on over to Broken Thoughts for Tim's top 5 and to find out what he's chosen as next weeks topic!

Lego Batman Movie | Review

Friday last week, me and Tim went to see the Lego Batman Movie at the Odeon in Telford. We booked the tickets a few weeks ago so that we could sit in the VIP seats - oh my god, I am never sitting in any other seats to watch a movie again! The have recliner sofas with a tray that comes across to put your drink and popcorn on! Total luxury!

We got a popcorn to share as well as a drink each. We sat in our seats and waited for the ads and trailers to start. I can't actually remember what trailers were shown, I just remember that there wasn't any films I was overly keen on seeing.

On to the film itself. I loved The Lego Movie which is why I wanted to see this one. I had high hopes and I wasn't disappointed! The story follows Batman as he tries to save Gotham from the Joker and along the way he gains allies in Barbara Gordon, Dick Grayson & Alfred. He also learns to let people in, rather than pushing them away.

It was a really good film and I would definitely like to watch it again! I don't want to say any more about the film as I don't want to give anything away!

I would give the film a solid 9/10. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend you do! And what better way to do it than in VIP seats at Odeon!

Five Favourite Friday | Video Game Weapons

I missed my own topic last week - I wasn't feeling myself and the stress of trying to get a post up on time was just taking it out of me. So I've planned a bit better this week and I've not left it til the last minute!

Tim's topic is Video Game Weapons. I'm not sure mine will be a very exciting list this week but I'll hive it a shot!

5. Diamond Sword - Minecraft. OK, let's face it, this had to be a part of my list! I don't play a wide range of games, but as Minecraft is one of the few I do play, the Diamond Sword just had to play a part in this list!

4. Dragunov - Call of Duty: Black Ops. I'm very much a camp & snipe kinda girl. Sniper rifles are very much my weapon of choice! This one is usually my 'go to' rifle as it's a semi-automatic and, with the right attachments, is extremely accurate.

3. Longshot - Gears of War. Straight on to another sniper rifle! The Longshot in Gears is my ultimate sniper rifle. If I could use this in other games I would!

2. Razorblade Typhoon - Terraria. What. A. Weapon. It's fast, it's magic, it's pretty, and it's homing. What more could a girl ask from a sandbox game weapon?!

1. Lancer - Gears of War. I fell in love with this weapon from the first time I picked up my controller to play Gears of War with my dad. It's fully automatic, quick to reload, and the best bit? It has a fully functioning chainsaw attached to it! Chainsawing those locust in half is possibly one of the most satisfying gameplay moments ever.

And there you go! My list was going to consist of purely Gears of War weapons as there are so many that I just love, but maybe I'll do that list another day.

As always, head on over to Broken Thoughts to read Tim's top 5. We'll be back next week with our five favourite Board Games! I love playing board games, so I thought it would be fun to put together a list of our favourites!

West Midlands Safari Park | 2017

Over the weekend I visited West Midlands Safari Park with my Mum, Sister and little boy. I was a bit sceptical about visiting during the winter months as I wasn't sure how much of the park would be open and how many animals we'd actually see. I was, however, pleasantly surprised! The park itself had a lot of things closed in regards to rides but the safari bit was incredible! I imagine that the cooler weather actually helped the animals be a bit more alert as they were wondering around and approaching the car and it was really cool! We did purchase some animal food for £3.50 and it was worth it because of how active the animals were!

Enough of my rambling now, here are just a few of the images I managed to capture of our time there!

Juicy Fuel Cola | The Best Cola Ever??

'New Year, New Me'

It's said every year by so many people (myself included) - but how many of us actually stick to it? How many of us actually make the lifestyle changes that we say we will at the start of every year? This I actually have started. And the guys over at The Juice Shed Company have helped kick start my year!

I was very kindly sent some of their colas to sample - Juicy Fuel Cola and Juicy Fuel Cola Cherry. I had tried these previously at the #BloggerHalloweenParty and I really liked them then. But having not had any in a while I'd almost forgotten that amazing flavour.

Let kick things off by explaining that the ingredients in these drinks are completely natural. There's no added flavourings or preservatives and there is no way you would be able to tell! And the best bit? It's one of your five a day!

I don't know if you guys ever tried Pepsi RAW when it was on the shelves from 2008 - 2010, but the Juicy Fuel Colas remind me of this. It tastes clean without compromising on flavour. It's well known within my family and my household that I'm not a lover of cherries or cherry flavoured things - in fact I can't stand them. But I thought I'd give the cherry cola a try - and I was pleasantly surprised. The cherry flavour is not overpowering like I thought it was going to be.

Although the drinks aren't available in shops as yet (if you'd like them to be, help the guys out by bombarding your local supermarket with tweets asking them when you're likely to see them in store!) and until they are, they're available for purchase online from The Juice Shed Company via Amazon.

I'll definitely be purchasing more, I can't get enough. And I'm sure Juicy Fuel Cola will be featuring heavily in future posts as I keep you guys updated on my health kick!

Have you tried Juicy Fuel Cola yet? What do you think? And if you haven't, go get some and let me know what you think!
